The 13th Annual Survivor Crop, a 24-hour scrapbooking marathon benefiting Susan G. Komen San Diego, is North County’s largest fundraiser for breast cancer research and support services.
This fundraiser, also affectionately referred to as a FUNraiser where teams compete to “crop” out breast cancer, is Komen San Diego’s top third-party affiliate event! This scrapbooking “crop” has different fundraising teams, much like the Race for the Cure. It is also based on the show “Survivor” and each team has different islands (tables) with themes.
From 2002 to the present, Survivor Crop has benefited Susan G. Komen San Diego. It has become the second largest fundraiser for the San Diego affiliate, next to Race for the Cure. We like to call our event the little engine that could. With the help of countless dedicated women, including a phenomenal committee and leadership team over the years, the event has grown from raising $8,000 the first year to nearly $400,000 in the 12 years Ever After has hosted the event.
The event honors breast cancer survivors each year and the Survivor Crop volunteer committee is proud to be a part of an event that helps save lives. Awareness, early detection, and the vital funds to help beat the disease are key components to what Survivor Crop is all about. Komen San Diego personnel and event goers enjoy the camaraderie of Survivor Crop and what the scrapbooking community can do when it puts its collective mind together.
Join us for an event like no other…we promise no blisters on your feet, but you will be touched by the survival stories as you Survive 24 Hours So Others Can Survive.
The 13th Annual Survivor Crop is October 18-19, 2014. The event begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday and ends at 9 a.m. on Sunday.
